We make a healthy smoothie in our nearly every day at our house.  Our Blendtec Blender
is the most used appliance in our house by far.  I don’t post all of the smoothie recipes I make, but I try to post the best ones.  I make these when the kids ARE NOT looking because if they see what goes in them, they are less likely to drink them, even if they taste good.  This healthy smoothie recipe for kids was a great addition to our dinner tonight.  I think presentation means a lot too.  If you serve it to them in a fancy cup with a beautiful straw, they are more likely to drink and like them more.

Healthy Smoothie Recipe for Kids – Apple, Carrot, Wheat Grass

Ingredients

  • 1 apple
  • 2 small bananas (or one large)
  • 1 c. frozen strawberries
  • 1 c. 100% orange juice
  • 3 c. rice milk
  • 1/4 c. carrots
  • 1 oz. wheat grass
  • 1 T. chia seed (optional)
  • 2 T. goji berries, dried (optional)

Instructions

  1. Put ingredients in blender in the order listed above. Blend for 1-2 minutes until smooth. Serve with an ice cube. Enjoy!

    Can you taste the wheat grass in this smoothie?

    1. You can faintly taste it. If you are very sensitive to the taste of wheat grass, double the orange juice. Hope that helps!
